Real Time Energy Management (RTEM) Program

Under the Real Time Energy Management (RTEM) program, NYSERDA covers a portion of the cost to install building systems and provide services (including ongoing subscription services) that:

  • Allow users to easily monitor the operational health of their facilities in real time
  • Identify opportunities to improve the performance of building equipment through advanced analytics
  • Increase the rigor of routine maintenance by proactively detecting conditions and assisting in troubleshooting

Qualifying Project Components Include:

  • Metasys® upgrades, installations, and expansions
  • Installation of variable frequency drives
  • Main meter and sub-meter projects
  • Controls planned service agreements
  • Johnson Controls Enterprise Management

Non-Qualifying Project Components Include:

  • Equipment upgrades, replacements, and retrofits
  • Lighting projects
  • Project previously funded or completed
  • Labor associated with equipment installations

Johnson Controls Enterprise Management Projects Meet the RTEM Criteria

To be eligible for RTEM rebates, projects must involve "the combination of hardware, software and secure internet connectivity to continuously transmit a building's current and historical performance data to the cloud, provide automated fault detection and diagnostics (FDD), and support demand response."  The Johnson Controls Enterprise Management platform meets the criteria.
